Stubby

Support

Email support@stubby.money and a real person, the one who wrote the app, will answer. Include your iPhone model and the Stubby version from the bottom of Settings.

A receipt was read wrong

Fix it on the review screen before saving: the "Other amounts on the receipt" section lists the other totals Stubby found, so tap the right one, or edit any field and change the category. If Stubby could not read it at all, the error screen has a Copy details button that copies the recognized text; paste that into an email to us and we will improve the reader. Stubby learns your merchants, so a category you correct once is used automatically next time.

Which iPhones read receipts on the phone?

iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16 and 17 families, and newer, with Apple Intelligence turned on in Settings. Those phones never send a receipt anywhere. Older iPhones use a cloud model (Anthropic's Claude) to read the receipt; the privacy policy says exactly what is sent.

Where is my data?

On your iPhone, in Stubby's private storage, and in your own iCloud if you have turned sync on. Stubby has no accounts and no servers. Deleting the app deletes the local copy.

Exporting for tax time

Open the Taxes tab, choose the year, and tap Export. The CSV lists every business entry with its category and T2125 line; the PDF bundle has one page per entry with the receipt image underneath, which is what an accountant or the CRA wants to see. The Taxes tab appears only if you said you have self-employment income during setup; you can turn it on later in Settings.

Reminders and the streak

Reminders are optional and live under Settings. A day counts when you log anything or mark it as no spending. You bank one streak freeze every Monday and one for each weekly quest you finish, up to two, and a missed day quietly uses one. Yesterday can be repaired any time today from the streak screen.
